Cate's musical tribute to her favourite singer Peggy Lee, one of the 20th Centuries greatest talents sadly lost to us in 2002. She wrote more than 500 songs and recorded over 600. Hear Cate pay homage to some of Peggy's songs "Fever", "That Old Black Magic", "It's Alright Ok", "Big Spender". "I've Got You under My Skin""Lover" and many many, more. Supported by some of Brisbane's finest musicians, with Chris Poulsen on Keys, Jeremy O'Connor on Double Bass, Luke Glanville on Drums/percussion and Josh Hatcher on Saxophone, Cate presented a fresh combination of jazz and Latin style music.
Cate will be accompanied by John Reeves on keys, Jeremy O'Connor on double bass and Luke Glanville on drums.

"Everyone loved you, that's my feedback from the guests. You and your
musicians did a professional and brilliant performance. It's been years since I have done a function like that and I realised these last two nights that I have missed them and now I am very inspired to keep them happening." Dala
"The story of Chika is captured so beautifully as this song tells one of the saddest stories of eventual redemption. Cate and Masaki's vocals tip-toe gracefully across a carefully mastered arrangement of strings, cute, fun and very unique.
Launching the new year on 1st January 2010, Cate was accompanied by Gerianne Rudd (USA) and Jazz Australis. Cate performs regularly at the Club's Jam nights
Guest appearance with The Not The Jazz Jazz Band, November, 2010
Listening to Cate performing to an appreciative audience at a venue such as the Brisbane Jazz Club is a pleasing and memorable occasion. Her diction is clear, her pitching flawless. She has all the attributes necessary for a quality singer while her choice of songs is always fascinating. Fittingly her latest album was actually recorded at the Brisbane Jazz Club with its memorable view of the Brisbane River. It was, as Cate sings So Nice.

"This song shimmers like dew in the brisk of morning air. The story of Chika is captured so beautifully as this song tells one of the saddest stories of eventual redemption. Cate Shaw's vocals tip-toe gracefully across a carefully mastered arrangement of strings with such ease and perfect vocal clarity. Her work can be likened to gentle, effervescent styles of Astrud Gilberto, or even Icelandic artists such as Bjork and Mum. Cute, fun, and very unique." Ron Ingalla, Bryan Farrish Radio Promotion
"the music has a lovely balance of sadness and hope and you capture that" Ingrid James, Jazz Vocalist
"... a young sound but delivered with the chops of a mature vocalist. What an exciting thing to be doing!" Geoff Norris, Music reviewer
